Biography

Laura Masotto is an Italian violinist and composer who masterfully blends the depth of classical strings with refined electronic experimentation, using analog pedals, synthesizers, and organic instruments to create a unique sonic language. A graduate of the Conservatory of Verona with roots in chamber music and post-rock, she launched her solo project in 2018 and has since released acclaimed albums like WE (2021) and The Spirit of Things (2024, 7K!), which earned international praise from The Wire and Electronic Sound. Currently working on her upcoming album Notturno (2026), Masotto has gained widespread global prominence through high-profile sync placements: her track "Atoms" was selected for the Dior Fall–Winter 2025–26 campaign, "Sol Levante" (released via Deutsche Grammophon) was featured in the Emmy-winning Netflix hit Baby Reindeer, and "Lucciola" soundtracked a Jil Sander show for Moncler in Shanghai. Also a prolific composer for screen and stage, she creates music for contemporary dance (collaborating with dancers from Tanztheater Pina Bausch) and cinema, including the original score for the NEXO Studios documentary Taboo.
