Alessio Vanni

Biography

Alessio Vanni is a composer and producer who crosses the boundaries between jazz, electronics, and folk. After graduating in Jazz Drums from the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma, he deepened his focus on electronic production and music for visual media, blending rhythm, texture, and sonic storytelling. In 2021, he moved to Bologna, where he began working as a producer and soundtrack composer at Modulab, a recording studio specializing in music for moving images. Some of his most prominent works—including Lubo and L’ascolto by Giorgio Diritti, Death is a Problem for the Livingand 100 Litres of Gold by Teemu Nikki, After The Bridge by Davide Rizzo and Marzia Toscano, Bella Ciao by Giulia Giapponesi, and Chello ‘ncuollo by Olga Torrico, among many others—have been showcased at major international film festivals, such as the Venice International Film Festival, Beijing International Film Festival, Rome Film Fest, Alice nella Città, and the Biografilm Festival. In 2023, he worked at Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik with Valgeir Sigurðsson, consolidating his research into soundscapes suspended between analog and digital. His music captures the inner landscape of a contemporary artist who builds sonic worlds where the line between composition and production becomes a poetic act. Alessio seeks to investigate the relationship between image and memory, rhythm and silence, composing to give space to the invisible—the tensions, the pauses, and the echoes.
