European Vampire
Biography
Driven by elusive electronic arrangements and lyrics steeped in postmodern romance and moral decay, European Vampire exists at the intersection of glamour and ruin—where pop music meets the fallen angel. Their sound evokes the final hours of a fated evening: a fashion week afterparty suspended somewhere between hedonism and cinematic fantasy. Emerging in the aftermath of 2020, European Vampire was founded by singer-songwriter Lorenzo Sutto Lewis alongside instrumentalist and producer Ricardo Fuffolo Marsili. Together, they developed a richly layered, multilingual world of sound, exploring themes of enlightenment and sin, love and loss, corruption and redemption. Their debut album, Forever Speeding Through Darkness (2022), introduced listeners to hypnotic arrangements that move effortlessly between decadence and melancholy. At times voluptuous and seductive—reminiscent of Serge Gainsbourg set against modern electronic production—at others atmospheric and dreamlike, like Chet Baker serenading the moon. Following the release of the debut record, singer and producer Angus Spike McGuinness, who had already collaborated on the band’s first video, Tom Ford, officially joined European Vampire, becoming an integral part of both their studio recordings and live performances. Blending art-pop, electronic music and cinematic storytelling, European Vampire creates music for the beautiful aftermath: for dance floors at dawn, fleeting romances, and the spaces where elegance meets decay.
