Biography

Renowned as XD Erica (she/they), the prolific Dj and Performer Erica Oliveira 25 years old, originally hails from São Paulo, currently based in Berlin. Alongside being a DJ, she is also a performer and has delved into audiovisual works. As a co-founder of the Brazilian collective ‘Chernobyl’. Erica’s passion for music stems from her familial influences. She explores a spectrum of Latin peripheral music, ranging from Brazilian funk to Techno, Hard dance, and Latin Core, igniting the Latin American scene. Her approach to Black music is deeply rooted in familial connections with her father and uncles organising Black Music balls in São Paulo during the 80s. Her journey reflects on expressing pride in her extensive collection of works and an insatiable hunger for knowledge. Navigates the realms of performance art with a focus on exploring the complexities of her queer, black, and plus-sized identity within a society marked by illness and transphobia. Her performances serve as a poignant commentary on societal norms and the challenges faced by marginalised communities.
